Am Sonntag 11.9.2011 wird in der Akademie der Künste am Pariser Platz
um 17h der Film DAS NETZ von Lutz Dammbeck gezeigt, zu dem Brian Holmes, der von mir zuletzt erwähnte Chicagoer Kulturtheoretiker einen spannenden Text geschrieben hat:
„Dammbeck is a former East German, born in 1948, the year that Norbert Wiener published his foundational work, Cybernetics: or Communication and Control in the Animal and the Machine. His distance from the Western euphoria over computers has given rise to the most probing and skeptical documentary film yet to be made about networked technologies. In the tense, militarized atmosphere of post-9/11 America, he uses interviews and archival research to explore the relations between the Internet, Adorno, LSD and the motivations of Ted Kaczynski: the mathematician, madman and violent eco-revolutionary known to the world as the Unabomber. Pushing his outsider status to the hilt, Dammbeck raises questions that most American intellectuals do not dare to formulate, because they challenge our basic sense of legitimacy.”
Um 20 h zur Archiveröffnung, wird die neu entstandene Internetseite zum Herakleskonzept präsentiert, die eine große Materialfülle zu den Dokumentarfilmen des Komplexes (wie DÜRERS ERBEN, ZEIT DER GÖTTER, DAS MEISTERSPIEL u.a.) zugänglich macht, die jetzt auch bei Absolut Medien in einer DVD Box erschienen sind. Der Vorlass Dammbecks zum Herakleskonzept ist nun im Archiv der Akademie der Künste und wird dort von Romy Kleiber und Michael Krejsa betreut.
